- the production of new knowledge from sensory or intellectual experience
I am captivated by the surreal nature of childhood, the awkwardness of developing body consciousness, the familiarity and oddity of routine and daily interactions. As adults we lead lives of managed actualities, overwhelmingly preoccupied with cataloging what we do and what happens to us. Children are unfiltered in their behavior and perceptions – their world is unlimited, beautifully fragmented, continually expanding and transforming.
I am seeking to cultivate renewed awareness of spontaneous sensory experience. These photographs represent my seeing, hearing, smelling, touching – experiencing. The times I’m feeling small and the instances when I feel size-less and timeless. I am both an adult and a child, accessible and inaccessible all at once.
